+100 It's kind of sad to think about the authors of textbooks, toiling away, researching for years, and painstakingly writing on a topic to which they have devoted their lives, only for their work to be unread, mocked, and even vandalized by bored and indifferent students, amirite?

Good thing they don't see this happen directly jolly and the work is still appreciated by others

From a college student, screw textbook writers! They come out with a new version every other year for no reason, so that college students can't buy and sell textbooks amongst themselves, they have to buy them brand new from the colleges. The irony is how much paper is intentionally wasted in the pursuit of screwing over consumers by the ultra liberal universities.

I doubt it's the writers decision that new versions come out so frequently. They get payed based off how many books they sell- of there's a new version written by someone else (which in my experience it usually is), they don't make profit from it since no one has to buy their book.

I think we can all blame the publishing companies for that one. And the professors for making us buy the latest edition.
