+41 Laughter is the best medicine. Medicine is good for you, but can be overdosed easily. Laughter is good for you, but can also be, "overdosed." So that's why this quote, "If laughter is the best medicine, who is the idiot that said they died laughing?" doesn't make any sense, since you can, indeed, die laughing. Amirite?

You can die, while laughing I guess but no one can die just from laughing.

I saw a episode of //She Spies// and they got locked in a room with laughing gas you laugh until you can't breathe anymore or something the link explains the something "Death from laughter" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_from_laughter

The link said laughter can be a side-effect of an already fatal condition, or that one may pass out during an inopportune time and die. Nothing about actually laughing to death. Anything can kill you, I suppose, but there's always a catch for certain things. Noble gases and metals, for example, are completely non-toxic. No amount of these materials will cause any sort of toxic effect. They will only kill you by means of suffocation, intestinal blockage, or crushing you (in the case of metals). If a person suffocates from being in an environment of 100% argon, you can say they died from too much argon. It would be more correct and precise to say they died from a lack of oxygen, though, because the argon wasn't crucial in dying that way. You could replace the argon in that scenario with ANYTHING, and the person would have still died. That's in contrast to, say, a person dying from taking too much Tylenol. In that case, the toxicity of acetaminophen was the cause of death. If that Tylenol were replaced with another more benign chemical, then the person wouldn't have died.

yup the first line talks about it indirectly: "Death from laughter refers to a rare instance of death, usually resulting from cardiac arrest or asphyxiation, caused by a fit of laughter."

This carries the assumption that the best medicine can never kill you. I think too much of anything is a bad thing, even if it is a really good thing.

I think she pretty much said that when she said you can overdose with medicine
