+79 Dumbledore in his older years is a pretty good role model in a lot of ways, amirite?

The way Snape put it, he was "raising Harry to be a pig slaughtered on a farm." But look back to the 1st book, when they were trying to find clues about Nicholas Flamel and the sorcerer's stone, Dumbledore said "oh you did do the whole thing right then" when Harry was explaining how he found out about it. Later, Harry is telling Hermione and Ron something along the lines of "I think he knew what we were gonna try to do, he just gave us the help to get there." In his youth, him and Grindelwald were all like "the ends justify the means" and Dumbledore still kind of does that with Harry and saving the world but there wasn't really another option since Harry was a Horcrux- either he has to die or Voldemort does ever since the prophesy came true by Voldemort trying to peruse it. He knew Harry was going to want revenge for his parents so he helped him do that. Being clever, wise, kind, understanding, knowing, patient, and commanding a certain amount of respect just by being so dignified is why I say he could be a good role model. Dumbledore did do some bad and not so respectable things though, no doubt.
