I don't think she's an istj. An ISTJ's high se function over si wouldn't allow Hermione to draw conclusions the way she does. And istj would take concrete information and to look at only what is present and only at face value while an intj would also look a what isn't there and see the connections between things the istj wouldn't. Ex: what the monster in the chamber of secretes was and how it traveled through the pipes, someone with a higher functioning se than si would have a harder time seeing the connection between Hagrid's roosters dying, Hagrid saying follow the spiders, Hagrid being expelled at the same time the diary is from, Harry hearing noises, etc- they would see all those things as face value for what they are while it's a high functioning si that intjs have that allows seemingly unrelated incidents to be seen as more than what can be taken at face value and connection them to one concrete logical truth.

That makes sense, but on the other hand, we are really good at deducing things based on facts. We can eliminate options based on facts, though we'd never come to a concrete conclusion without actually figuring out the truth. I see your point.
