I had a few teachers that insisted we call them by their first name.

I remember I wrote a story in in 3rd grade in which an adult character had the same name as my teacher, and she flipped out. I didn't even know that was her name, but it was funny to watch her freak over how I might be spreading around her name and how we should start addressing her by that. That being said, it's sometimes weird to think how teachers actually have first names, because we're so used to calling them by their last names.

i remember it was kind of a game to figure out your teachers' first names but once you found them out, you would never utter them. ever. i remember one time a kid told my teacher "shut up, jeff" which is like the 2 worst things you could say back then. shut up. and the teachers first name. thats a 3rd grade scandal for you

I went to Montessori school so everyone was supposed to call their teacher by their first name

I remember in early primary we still called teachers by their first name, e.g. Miss Jenny, I guess it's friendlier for little children. It was afterwards that we had to call teachers by their last name, and to call them by their first name was horrible.
