+26 Language can be confusing and make no sense. The suffix "ist" means "related to" but the word "sexist" means to be discriminatory toward a certain sex. If you break the words up, sexist just means saying something related to a person's sex- discriminatory or not. It seems the dictionary just tells you how the word is commonly used, amirite?
