If it won't matter a year from now, it shouldn't matter now either, amirite?

My SAT scores won't matter a year from now after I've already been accepted to a college, but right now they're //really// important.

See, that's where people get confused about it. Your SAT score will matter for the rest of your life because it will determine which colleges you can get into, which determine your job, etc. If you absolutely bomb your SAT, that will change the course of your life.

This applies more to trivial things, like saying something stupid in front of someone, or not being able to hang out.

So it only applies to situations where your post is true?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Similarly, what happens to me in a year has no affect on the me that is living right now. If we don't let ourselves live in the moment because we know that one day it will all be forgotten, why are we alive?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Clearly, this post has been misinterpreted. It's saying that you shouldn't worry about ridiculous problems that won't matter at all a year from now.
by Anonymous12 years ago
In my opinion, the ridiculous problems that you encounter now are just as important as the big ones that you'll still be affected by in a year.
Just because we disagree doesn't mean I misinterpreted your post.

It's the little things that matter

Okay, clearly people are having trouble understanding what this post means, so I am just going to ask you, non-rhetorically: Is this post implying that I should not have cried my eyes out at my older friends' graduation last year because I have now adjusted to life without them even six months later?
by Anonymous12 years ago
No, this post implies that you shouldn't stress over little things that will have virtually no effect on your future. You don't have that friend in your life now, so it affected your future. But, if you walked around with your zipper undone for a day you shouldn't be overly embarrassed .
