-18 You hate to admit it, but perhaps the world would be a better place if it had a strong central government, which took care of pollution, solved world hunger, poverty, and any other problem imaginable. Amirite?

Kim Jung, is that you?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Exactly. I doubt a powerful central government would even be interested in solving world hunger.

It would only work if it was free of corruption and greed, which is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. But the idea of it makes sense, but to apply it is asking for trouble.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It would never work. Everybody is not going to be able to agree on the best way to solve anything.

NW. People are meant to be different, and have different governments, cultures, languages, and countries.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, they're not really good at doing that...

If it actually //did// do those things, that'd be great. Problem is, it probably would not succeed in doing so. However, cultures would be preserved because of present culture persisting through time and lacking reason to die out. A strong central government would be okay as long as there were branches in it and there were control over it to prevent it from becoming tyrannical. It would be bad that incredible military might could fall into the hands of a single leader, but there'd be no need for a military with only one country in the world. The bottom line is, it cannot be powerful enough to even dream of becoming tyrannical; there need to be checks over it by the people.
