Not that you would automatically disrespect them but just be sort of neutral. It's like when a person says, "if you want my respect, you have to earn it!" but they don't seem to think showing respect is how they should get it as well.

That's likely to happen. I mean, you have to give respect to receive it. Would you like it if someone treated you like bullshit but then demanded that you respect them?

My parents, teachers, and coaches demand respect and I give it to them. Besides, I, out of habit, am respectful to basically everyone. I can't think of any exceptions at the moment.

There is a big difference between //demanding// respect and //commanding// respect. Some (most) authority figures command respect because they have earned it (which is why they are in authority.) I have met few people who demand respect but don't deserve it, those people are often sputtering narcissists.

My thoughts exactly. But even teachers should respect their students and visa versa. Regardless of whose in chose, people need to respect one another. You may be my teacher or parent or whatever, but at the end of the day we're all human beings.

Teachers aka the bane of my past life. half of them show students little respect and expect you to kiss there asses. To those teachers all over the world I forgive you for being a douche and apologize for being a prick back.

We've all been there my friend. Plenty of times I felt disrespected by my own loved ones and wasn't the least bit hesitant to tell them off. Btw, why WERE they pricks to began with?
