This might be true, but people nowadays are to dumb to understand the sophisticated humor of The Simpsons. Family Guy is just easy to understand comedy... Which is still pretty funny I must admit.

Plus it can find a way to make a joke //within// the story line that's going on, rather than just going "Hey, remember when I had that massive dump."
