-19 We have 2 rovers on Mars right now but still no cure for the common cold. Something is wrong with this picture. Amirite?

The common cold doesn't do anything. There'd be no point in curing it. All symptoms of a cold are your body's reaction to a foreign body inhabiting it.

All I am saying is with the technology we possess, I find it extremely odd or curious that we have no cures for things such as the cold, cancer, leukemia, parkinson's disease, polio, flu, asthma, diabetes, pulmonary fibrosis, fibromyalgia, alzheimer's disease - to name a few of the more mentionables. I am a bit of a "conspiracy theorist" in that if technology or science did announce a cure for any or all of these things tomorrow, all the multiplied millions raised for research and the drugs used to treat them would cease to exist. And everyone knows that would be detrimental to many organizations.

There are some things that cannot be cured. However, technology can always be improved, so it makes sense.

Those two things aren't related at all... Its not like the physicists, aerospace engineers, and mathematicians working at NASA would be virologists if there were no mars rover program. Furthermore, even if we scrapped all of our mars rover technology very little of it would be usable as a virus. The two things are so unrelated, its like complaining that we technology that can toast bread slices, but we haven't developed teleportation yet. I mean its not like if you stop working in the toaster industry your going to be able to work in the teleporter industry.

At least the post prompted some DISCUSSION. That is typically my goal in posting. All I was really saying is: If we can put people on the moon and can put rovers on Mars, then surely we can figure out cures for diseases. But if we cured everything, how would all the people in the medical industry have jobs?

They'd learn to pilot rovers No, seriously, they'd earn too little !
