+32 When people act like their favorite characters have no flaws, it ignores the depth of the character that the author put there and makes the characters feel less relateable/more fictitious, amirite?

but then there are characters that are made to seem "perfect" by the author to the point where even the so called flaws aren't even really flaws "His only flaw was that he was so nice and everyone took advantage of that" "Her only flaw was that she always put herself before others, which put her in unfavorable circumstances" "She was just too dedicated" makes me wanna BARF also makes it harder to find depth in the character and/or relate to the character sidenote: I keep thinking you're cookiedough because of the main color in your avatar the background is cookie dough colored

I dislike those characters and I tend to really dislike books who have those characters. It feels like a mix of being lazy, not well thought out, and desperation for people to like their book.

When I read this all I could think of was the books and Harry. Dumbledore wasn't perfect either, and Sirius was reckless when it came to Harry. I have an urge to go through everyone in the books.
