It's immoral for people to burn others alive whether the latter are witches or not. Amirite?

I think there are better methods than burning someone alive

seems messed up to burn anyone alive
kinda like how I don't think it's funny when a rapist is raped

even if a witch burns someone alive
that person shouldn't be burned alive

I never met a religious person who didn't believe that black magic existed
(why do you think Harry Potter is controversial?
other than that person(s) who jumped off the roof on broom and died?)

from Satanists to Christians/Muslims/other monotheists to Pagans
(people who believe that black magic exists)

witchcraft/sorcery is a common practice especially in Asia and Africa
even though it's forbidden by many religions

uhm
where does it come from?
I don't know too much about this area of information

I would guess black magic occurs when people (and jinn?) pursue/practice it

@1941944

well this post could refer to the Salem witch trials and the current day burning of innocent people

they're being burned alive by the inhabitants who are taking the law into their own hands

the inhabitants are killing people without even having concrete proof
(just to be clear
I don't think they should be lawfully burned either)

plus
it might be hard to get evidence that someone has done black magic

the belief in black magic is pretty mainstream where I come from

now I don't know about people having "powers"
I'm just talking about pursuing black magic and/or using it to harm people

"YOU'RE A LOONY"

I AM NOT

@1941944

oh by the way
I avoided your question because I don't know the answer

the post was inspired when I read about people being burned alive in Malawi

and I also have a story I talked about in this comment: http://amirite.com/749215-there...in-air/1877366

I don't do black magic though

doing so would be haram

I'm just gonna interrupt right here and say that the art of witchcraft is in no way worship of the christian devil. Most Pagans I've encountered do not believe in such a deity. It's purely lies and slander spread about to keep christianity as good and pure and the "one true way". Just a way to convert as many blind followers as possible. I know you didn't outright say it was devil worship I just thought I'd give you a little information.

I answered a few months ago by throwing my hands up and saying "I don't know"

I was waiting on some information
which I finally obtained yesterday

so I responded

also
the law applies to all these magic users
so if they kill someone or rape someone or etc.
they have to pay just like any other human

they're not excused

Yes, disgusting and immoral.

@PhilboydStudge Yes, disgusting and immoral.

think about the lynching that went on in the US

little kids were watching that stuff
like it was some great live concert

I agree. What circumstances did those people come from? And might I have done the same thing if I were in their shoes? I tend to think that I would.

Not trying to diminish what these people did though...

yeah
definitely not dismissing what they did

plus
no way you and I will know if we're capable of such

since there are people who grow up in a certain community
but still are able to rebel against certain actions/customs

maybe we would rebel or maybe we would conform
who knows?

fuzalas avatar fuzala Yeah You Are 0Reply
@PhilboydStudge Yes, disgusting and immoral.

it is very cruel and gross

but depending on social construct/conditioning/etc.

I can see how people could be misguided into finding it acceptable
as unfortunate as it is
