If you have a flaw, it's easier to recognize that flaw in someone else than to recognize it in yourself, amirite?

I think it's because we see others in action
we can see their face
their reactions
all from a distance

other than being recorded by a video
I don't see myself from a distance
I don't really see my actions

so it's tougher to "see" what's right and wrong

I'm hyper- aware of all my flaws so I tend to notice them in myself and not in others. Sometimes to a fault.

usually the qualities we most despise in others are the ones we possess ourselves

Pretty true and goes for faults as well. I enjoy the saying about when you point your finger at another person you have 3 pointing back at yourself.

Hypocrisy is the pillar that keeps our broken society standing
