well you see in a gun fight everyone stays at a distance a knife is a good weapon up close but not from distance I guess you could throw the knife but with all the guns around you I doubt having a knife would be any better than being without one I don't know if this is physically possible but someone might shoot the knife you throw (since guns are weapons that work well from a distance unlike the knife) and this might push the knife back into you plus the only ones close enough to use the knife on would be those on your side (not the ones shooting at you)
