+377 The pledge of allegiance states "liberty and justice for all" yet homosexuals are still denied certain rights, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Even as a very conservative, pro-America American [redundant] I find people against gay rights clueless. So they like someone of the same gender. It's usually a more genuine love, and since they can't have children, they'll adopt and give that one kid a good home. There is absolutely nothing wrong with homosexuals.

I completely agree (: love is love, no matter of gender.

Preach! :D That's one of the reasons I don't say the pledge of allegiance.

what rights do people who choose to be gay not have? name one

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the right to fight for our country. the right to marriage. the simple right to respect....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They have the right to fight for our country. They have to right to marriage just not to the same gender, if you look at it as (everyone has the right to marry someone of the opposite gender) then gay people have the exact same rights as strait people. They have every right to respect that is every persons choice to give them respect or not. @134141 (ThisIsMe):

thank you

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ok. gay people have the same rights as straight people. that's not what ThisIsMe is saying. ThisIsMe is saying that they SHOULD have the right to marry each other. honestly, can you give me one valid reason why they shouldn't?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Thats like asking why its illegal to walk around naked. It just creeps alot of people out. I'm not against gays, but I don't like the idea of gay marriage. I'm sure eventually they'll be allowed to marry, and maybe someday we'll be able to walk around naked. For the time being though, its not yet socially acceptable.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's like saying that nobody should get married because some people find anybody making out (regardless of gender) is creepy. The support of the majority does not outweigh the rights of the minority. And being gay is socially acceptable...by those who are not close minded and blinded by illogicality. And how can you not be against gays but not want them to get married? That's like saying "Hey man I don't hate black people but I just think that they shouldn't be as free as whites." If you don't want a person, regardless of who they are, who they love, or what they believe to have the same rights as you do then obviously you have something against them. It may not be hate, but you definitely think of them as less of a person....otherwise you would want them to have the same rights.

I can go ahead and not be against gays but still not support gay marriage. You're really going to hate this next statement, because most people do, but its part of my religious views that gay marriage is not right. All people should be respected and accepted though. I'm not saying that if I know a gay couple that gets married, I'll ignore them or make them feel like it was a bad choice, but I'm not one of those people who will go and start rallies and stuff like that.

well one reason is that it goes against the Bible, which this country was founded by Bible believers and is considered a Christian Nation. a second is that a man and a man or women and a women cant even make a baby and if they adopt it is bad for the child to not have a father and mother.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just because some founders were religion doesn't mean all were. In fact there's tons of evidence out there that supports Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were both either atheists or were just deists (and not Christians) This country was founded on our INDEPENDENCE of religion, not for everyone to be freaking Christian and share the same beliefs. Also...so it's not okay for gays to adopt and have children because the kids won't have both a mother and a father? Okay what about all the single parents out there, lets go snatch up their kids because OMG THE KIDS DON'T HAVE A MOMMY AND DADDY!! There are more single parents in this world than I bet there are gays, but hey let's not think about the children's well-being, let's just continue to shove our own ideals down the throat of America.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Nobody said that single parents could raise a child the right way either.

im tired of arguing like this, because i know that if we both argued for a year neither of us would change our mind @135160 (avgisnotsmart):

I always wonder the same thing. Say nothing about it how can you be treated differently?

by Anonymous 7 years ago

...and aborted babies are deprived of life.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that is correct

Has anyone ever noticed that a homosexual person is usually single or happily with someone, rarely furious about a relationship/ex-partner? And if they are, it is usually because this partner lied about their orientation? Try comparing that to the straight people who are full of terrible relationship drama at every age. Straight people find love too, but are homosexuals with partners often unhappy?

What's most annoying about people saying gays shouldn't be able to get married because it's against the Bible is the fact that if it was any other religion, people would say that America is a country of religious diversity and we do not cater to any one group. But Christianity, due to its huge percentage, gets away with using religion as a means to be prejudiced. By the way, I am Christian so inb4 the "atheist" comments.
