If you will restrict everything then there will be no one here.. amirite?
by Anonymous7 years ago
That's a valid point.

AMEN!
We can't go around walking on eggshells around here. We don't need management watching our every move, or someone going around taking "snapshots" of our responses.
I love the sudden need for mods and strict rules.
Last summer and fall when we were asking for help on anonymous bullying, you couldn't find a mod.
Now they are all over us.
by Anonymous8 years ago
We try and moderate to the bare minimum.
But if there are any instances of bullying or other behaviour mentioning users we will remove these as we want the site to be as welcoming and friendly as possible.
On the whole though users are free to posts on topics whatever they like.
by Anonymous8 years ago
James, I only ask that the moderators actually READ the post in it's whole entirety before condemning it.
And we have no control on who comes onto a post and starts problems, especially with the anonymous feature of the past.

Exactly, I know a Website called Gamefaqs that deleted a thread I created & had great discussions but then they deleted it simply because I said an appropriate word(not one that offends anybody either). I sent them a letter to convince them 2 put my post back on THREE TIMES yet they automatically refused just because of that One word.
I never used that website ever since & they shouldn't be surprised if they see more users leave if they do the same shit to them

*inappropriate

Why do people bitch and moan ALL DAY, EVERY DAY about this site? If I thought it was that bad, I'd be gone in a flash, rather than trying to force the OWNERS of the site to bend to the members wishes. It's so much easier to go find a site that suits you. So much nonsense and kid's stuff here. And it's a shame. I don't think I've ever seen so many miserable people in my life. Why waste your time on a site that you hate? makes no sense. Life is too short. I am glad, however that Glispix, James and Dev are making some changes. Good job guys!

Maybe, **if** every little thing that offends somebody is moderated somehow, or removed.
The malicious discussing of other 'users' past or present not being tolerated anymore, sounds like a positive change to me.
by Anonymous8 years ago
And we have all been a part of that, haven't we?
by Anonymous8 years ago
No, I'm sure "we" all haven't.
by Anonymous8 years ago
Yes, I am sure we all have, including your friends.
by Anonymous8 years ago
What is with this collective **we**? I am sure many of "us" have discussed what we have seen going on here on this site, but that malicious public discussing of other individuals is exclusive to a relative few.
by Anonymous8 years ago
When you jump on 'say post' and engage in a fight of words you are just as guilty.
by Anonymous8 years ago
That's right, Dru. Expressing any dissent on a post inviting opinions, on a post personally attacking someone, is *exactly** the same thing as posting one myself.
by Anonymous8 years ago
You jump to conclusions and you keep the fires burning.
Not quite the solution, is it?
by Anonymous8 years ago
I do not know what "solution" would please you, so I can't answer your question.
I guess the solution to not having anyone jump to conclusions about personal attack posts, would be to not post them. That, or block anyone who doesn't pretend like they don't know what's going on.
by Anonymous8 years ago
Also, not to conclude that EVERY post made by certain people are personal attacks.
In regards to personal attacks, I would guess that the meaning only lies between two people, so most people really don't know what it is about.
by Anonymous8 years ago
Yes, that would silly.
No, a public attack post is not just between two people.
by Anonymous8 years ago
Maybe more, but it is not always public knowledge. A lot of people don't know the history behind it.
I let people vent, if it is about me, I will vent back. We don't have groups and we need to let off steam sometimes.

There is no doubt this site is changing. I see a lot of good and some I'm not sure of. I'm hoping in the future that the need to moderate this site so heavily will not be needed. I still see some trying to put up a question that causes problems, I've noticed people are not rising to the bait.

Well said indeed.
