+2,254 Most people don't even vote for presidents. They vote for things like American Idol -_-... I think they should just name those presidency elections to something catchy like "Who's gonna run this Bitch".. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Honestly, voting for the President is a much bigger decision than who sings better. That's why I don't vote.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

But the people that don't vote complain about the government, which bothers me. It's your DUTY to vote for a president. If you have no way to get somewhere to vote, that's one thing, but not taking the 20 min to vote is another.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Heh, you said duty.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I laughed at it, too. Which is why I put it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

For the people who cant make it in to vote, they have mail in ballots.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i love Gabriel Iglesias. =D

Me too! As soon as I read the first line my mind went straight to him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think it's sad when people don't vote. It's taken America a long time to fight for equal rights so everybody can vote and then people don't even take advantage of it :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

U.S.A not America.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I agree with avgisnotsmart. So many lives were lost to give us this right and people treat it as though it was simply handed to us. It's a disappointment, really.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most people don't know crap about the presidential thingy. Imagine if everyone voted.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

totally zinamazing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If voting for the president was as easy as dialing 1-888-prez001 and 1-888-prez002 I'm pretty sure there would be just as many people voting

by Anonymous 13 years ago

exactly!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2008 was when I turned 18 and was finally able to vote but I didn't vote because I didn't like any of the presidential candidates and I didn't want to vote for who everyone else was voting for so I just decided not to vote at all. I agree though...we all vote for things like American Idol instead of Presidents.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd watch that show.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Early 1900s: "Women can't vote!" 2010: "Women won't vote!" P.S. just an example. I'm not hatin' on women or anything. I happen to be one, actually...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

way to steal a joke

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is so stupid. Why is the post of the day.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because it's true.... My friends parents don't vote for the president ever.... at all. But every time American Idol comes on, they pull out their phones or computers and vote for whoever..... It aggrivates me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Most people who don't vote don't care about the country enough to know what's going on so they can't make an informed decision anyway.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's annoying when people vote for someone just because they like the way they look or something without even bothering to learn about their views on the issues. Even though I'm not old enough to vote, I like to learn about the candidates views on all the issues that are important to me.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What of both of the candidates suck? True, you get the choose how much shit to swallow, but the fact if the matter is that you're still swallowing shit.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is exactly why we need to get rid of the electoral college

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So true! Someone can have more electoral votes, but not more popular votes. If you get the big states, like NY, CA, and FL and get a few other states to get the required amount, but not the other states, it's not fair. You can win the big states by 1,000 votes, but lose the others by a LANDSLIDE, but you're still president. It's not the majority of the votes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm not sure I get this post. People who vote for American Idol shouldn't vote for the president? People who vote for American Idol *don't* vote for president? The presidency should be renamed to appeal to American Idol voters?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Many people vote for American Idol, but barely anyone votes for the president.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Also partially because of the voting age!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wouldn't leave the Presidential election up to the same type of people who vote for American Idol. And I assume that those are the people who'd vote for "Who's gonna run this bitch?" Also, it's a funny bit of stand up comedy, but pretty terrible material for amirite.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no, its not like that, that's a way of saying that just as those type of people that vote for American Idol is equivalent to those who'd vote for those people who'd vote for "Who's gonna run this bitch?"---because sadly, there are many. It's a way of getting their attention basically.

This is a quote from George Lopez.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This is actually a quote from gabriel iglesias, not george lopez...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Voting down because you took it from Gabriel Iglesias. Use quotations or something bro.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, are you all this shallow? What's the point of voting really? Does anyone even know what an electoral College is? Look it up before you thumb up this amirite

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This would only be clever if you didn't STEAL IT!! Go make up something original.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually, there are so much more american idol votes than president votes because kids can vote for american idol and you can vote as many times as you want...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It should be just as easy to vote for politicians as it is to vote on amirite, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That would turn out REAL well. Come on, think about what the consequences would be.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, direct copy of Gabriel Iglesias? You didn't even give him the credit you unoriginal bitch.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

GABRIEL IGLESIAS. you would think the post of the day would be what the author wrote.
