It depends on how you define "ready." I believe that I am at the mental and intellectual capacity to raise a child without killing it or causing serious psychological harm for the future, but I would also have to drop out college and start a new life, which I sure as hell have no intentions of doing. So yes, I'm ready to have a baby, but I don't want one. Fortunately, things like condoms and birth control exist, so I don't really have to worry about that.

Yeah, I suppose you have to define ready in different categories - financial, psychological, etc. I personally reckon I'd never be ready for a child - right now I just go from place to place, and it's alright because I just have to worry about myself, and if I fuck up, then it doesn't matter, because I'll only fuck things up for myself. But add a child to the picture, suddenly I become responsible for something more than myself, and I don't think it would be fair to a kid to have a dad like me always doing stupid shit - having a kid doesn't mean you have be super cereal all the time, but it does mean you gotta grow the fuck up.
