Lifes like a book. The first and last page really don't matter, it's the plot that counts, amirite?

Actually, the first and last pages are quite important. That's your hook to get the reader interested. And that's what you leave them with. That's what they'll remember the most because it's the last thing they read.

When i remember a book, i always remember the things i liked the most about them, which is different for every reader, so it depends really.

Oh, I'm not saying that the first and last page are the MOST important. I'm just saying that they aren't UNimportant. Every page is important and I totally agree with you that you remember the powerful sections the most. It just doesn't mean that they are any more important than the rest of the book.
