-387 Drummers and bassist should be nice to their lead singers and guitarist because drummers and bassist are the easiest to replace, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This made me laugh, but it's way easier to replace guitarists...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, I know way more skilled guitarists than I know drummers and bassists (skilled or otherwise) combined.

nah every guitarist has his/her own style. if you replace a guitarist the next one will never be the same. hahah (:

The drums are the center of the band. If the drums don't sound good then the whole band sucks. Regardless of how well the singer is. Trust me, been there done that.

Uh, no? My boyfriend plays bass and is always getting offers to be in bands because bassists, especially in small towns, are hard to find. Same with drums. I only know two people who can play drums. There's a fuckton of guitarists.

Haha the only reason we've got a solo vocalist and not a guitarist doing vocals is because gear is heavy..

Believe me, finding a drummer who is actually able to play is hard enough. Finding a bassist to go along with them is on the verge of insanity.

My hubby's a drummer :c I bet it's easy to replace them, but I bet it's tricky to replace them with another GOOD player!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Depends on the skill level. Also every musician has their own characteristics that are hard to replace

My band still needs a bassist! I've been trying to convince my friends to learn to play but we all just play guitar. I live in a small town and it's impossible to find a good bass player.

you could use an octavator to make a guitar sound like a bass, although it doesnt sound the same.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, but it's a million times better to have a real person there, and it sounds better with guitar and a bass playing in the background.People never really notice bass because of the low sound, but most music sounds bad without it.Thanks for the suggestion, though.

I used to play Bass, and then my friends always told me I was useless, so I quit D:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry about that :( maybe you should start playing again? who knows, maybe you'll be better since you've gotten older.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would start again, but sports take up too much of my life. Besides if I would start to play an instrument again, it would definitely be the drums.

I don't know who you think you are, but you are dead wrong. You can think of many guitarists, and most bands have two guitarists. The drummer is te backbone of the band. There's only three very talented drummers I can think of at the moment(I'm sure there's a handful more that I'm not aware of). Bassist, I will agree, most bands don't have their bass up high enough that you don't really hear it. There's not a lot of people that'll learn bass, for that reason alone. Good singers that don't need autone are pretty hard to find, but guitar is definatly easiest.

I'm a bassist and I totally disagree. There are a lot more singers and guitarists than bassists and drummers. Plus if you did replace a bassist, even if the new bassist was good, there's no guarantee that they're going to keep good rhythm with the drummer. The same goes if you replace a drummer, they won't necessarily play well with the old bassist. Don't underestimate the rhythm section =)

drummers are the hardest cause noone wants to spent 300 dollars to try to learn something you might just suck at anyway

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lolololol I love your outake on this. or w/e the word is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i can give you some examples of how false that staement is. 1) i went to a camp where we had three or more guitarists to a band, and there were three basists, and three drummers in the entire program, with seven bands that's not good. 2) my bass teacher teaches 50 students. including me, 3 of them are bassists.

Or, to solve the problem entirely, how about they all treat each other with a little respect and no one has to be replaced. Solves the whole problem right there.

Haha! Funny. the bassists are some of the hardest to find. bass-players each have their own style as well, contributing to the band's sound. Plus, living in a small town makes it hard to find a lot of good bassists... So here they're in demand.
