Guns are merely tools, the person is the one who makes it dangerous. kinda like a knife or a bat, amirite?
by Anonymous5 years ago
Of course, but if these "dangerous" couldn't easily access guns in this country, like they can now, the gun homicide rate would drop like a rock.

the gun homicide rate is actualy pretty low already and guns are regulated, but you also have to factor in illegal guns brought in, and even if you ban guns whats gonna make a criminal turn in his gun.

What I suggested was not an ABSOLUTE solution, but it sure would make a dent.

Sure. But they are more dangerous tools than knifes and bats and ought to be regulated as such

they are

I have a friend who teaches self defense to the cops. One of the tests is, my friend starts from 15 yards away with a knife, the cop has to draw his gun and shoot him before he is stabbed. The cop was stabbed 44 times before he got a shot off. Seems knives are just as dangerous as a gun.

Sure. Someone driving aggressively isn't the car's fault. But driving is also regulated by mandated insurance, driver education, the license renewal process, State Patrol officers, and countless other measures to prevent people from behaving like morons around dangerous magines. And people are //still// injured or killed by these morons.

just like guns, they are really regulated and to get one you need a permit, for most you need a license and to pass a backround check thats very thourough.

The education surrounding guns and gun safety is extremely lacking. Are there people that drive uninsured, without licenses, without an awareness of road safety, or otherwise recklessly? Of course. And the people that do things wrong are always more publicized than those who do things right. Most drivers and gun owners do everything right. While extra precautions can be a pain in the ass for the people that are responsible, everyone has to be treated as if they are irresponsible, because there's no way to tell at a glance who's an idiot and who's not.

Never, ever have I seen an inanimate object make a decision and then actually carry out that decision.
by Anonymous5 years ago
So ... you've seen inanimate objects make decisions, but not carry them out?
LOL
