OH yes think of sitting around your fire relaxing after dinner when you hear pop pop pop. I guess they figured it out because I read popcorn was cultivated and grown before our everyday corn. Maybe they were happy enough with that grade of corn and later generations wanted fuller more juicy types and worked it up to our table corns
