+65 Kids think how awesome it is to have all this tech stuff- toys, video games, cell phones, etc & how great their generation has it. They have no idea how great it was to have the freedom to run down the street or over to the school to play with loads of kids. No set up play dates, just wild fun, amirite?

I lived in a small town and in the summer we were outside until 9:30-10. It was so much fun! No being by yourself indoors playing video games.

Different generations enjoy different things

I think we can all agree that freedom is the best. Look at all we've had taken away since 9/11 or how complicated it is to do stuff now

Yeah with my mates we used to build cabins in the woods, have giant paintball fights in the wood (even before youtube or facebook were invented ...), had spontanious BBQ or football games in the neighbourhood. It was always a mission to go by bike find your friends, never sure you'd find them at their home or not. Childhood without mobile phones was great.

Yeah cause my parents who had that freedom didn't let me have it. Don't blame the kids, blame the parents

That's bc of kidnappings. Kids couldn't just run anywhere. Not all that safe for adults now either

The crime rate now in the US is much lower compared to when my parents were kids. The reason people feel that it's higher is because when crime happens, there're plenty of media outlets to tell you about it. Now we know how terrible other humans can be.

Times were great, when I was a kid. We had plenty of things to do. We went roller skating, bike riding played stick ball ,stoop ball. Traded comic books. Went to Coney Island, And top it off in the evening and go to the ice cream parlor. Kids today are depressing.
