Every one should make a "digital will" leaving a list of all their "online accounts" and their passwords. The accounts can then be deleted (leaving room for more accounts). It also makes sense for all accounts that have been inactive for more than 5 years to be closed (after an e-mail closing notification) if there is no credit involved. "Forgotten password" is a good recovery option if the registration e-mail address is known!
