Also about english and language-184The reason why non-English speaking countries tend to have higher standardized test scores is probably because their populous cannot reduce a conversation to texting language. If they were to use text speaak as we do, they would have to have some basic knowledge of English in the first place, translate their thoughts and then type poorly, which in itself is more mental exercise, amirite?
Also about melting pot+128You'd rather want America to be more of a "tossed salad" than a "melting pot", amirite?

Also about english and languages-163Its amazing that there are an estimated 6000 languages in the World. Probably more. And soo many people are bilingual. Yet, a great number of languages are disappearing because children are not speaking the language of their parents. Even more, all over the World, the language being taught to kids is English. Honestly, looking at the rules, English is an awful langauge. Amirite?
Also about english and languages+73Do you agree with the saying: A bilingual person (who has a working knowledge of two languages) is tantamount to having a double personality? I think that there is some element of truth in it. I have always noticed that my friend who is perfectly bilingual in French and in English is becoming a different person when he switches from French into English or vice versa. Does it depend on the nature of the language or on the personality of the speaker? amirite?
Also about ve spoken+70If you often talk to strangers online, it's weird to think that you may see these people in real life at some point but have no idea you've spoken before, amirite?
Also about english, vast, and languages+79You could visit the vast majority of the world without really needing a translator if you learned just six languages: English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, and Chinese. amirite?
