There's an alternate timeline where Willy Wonka just falls and dies at the start of that movie, amirite?

Same with every fictional and non-fictional character to exist.

I read a very interesting post somewhere that argued Violet (the girl who blew up like a blueberry) was a more fitting candidate to win the chocolate factory. I'm on board with the idea.
I don't remember every detail, but her traits almost paralleled with Wonka's. She had dedication to gum (or candy). She was willing to sacrafice her safety for experimentation. Her father was a businessman who surely passed down some business sense to her. She showed compassion for the Oompa Loompas when she criticized the snobby rich girl for wanting to buy one. Violet just made more sense than Charlie.
Charlie got the factory because he wanted it more? Because he had a bit of integrity? Because he was poor and "deserved" it more? I'm being Charlie didn't make any advancements in the chocolate industry after the factory was his.
