No matter how bad of a person you are, you'll always see yourself as the good guy. Your conscience will always have some sort of justification that'll prevent you from perceiving yourself as bad. amirite?
this feels like a flawed perspective. I have done things i'm not proud of therefore i'm not the good guy in those scenarios, i'm just more mature now than i was when they happened so i can view them as genuine mistakes.
yes so you say your not the "good guy in those scenarios" but only AFTER you have performed it. your conscience will find any way to justify yourself. in this case you're justifying yourself as being immature and blaming it on your past self. if you committed a murder, you would have said "i was just angry" etc.. or "he was a bad person" etc. they'll always exist some form of justification that makes your CURRENT conscience the hero when your really the villain
