My wife is a therapist. If society could regard mental illness the same as physical illness, we'd all be better off.

We're getting there. Change is slow but many of us are working to normalize it. One way we can do that is by discussing felt experiences.

That's probs not all it is. Probably not most of what it is. But maybe it's part of it. OR MAYBE Bad guys are portrayed as crazy because crazy is stigmatized

It's just in the last couple years that people started to open up and accept mental illness. Growing up, being "Mental" was something that kids AND adults made fun of. It's not perfect, but getting much better educating people, and having people reach out and say that "they are not alone" Education, and awareness, is essential, especially for our kids today.
