+65 School is good, the school system is bad. amirite?

by Anonymous 3 years ago

As a teacher, I couldn't agree with you more.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Sameeee

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I sure hope your username doesn't relate to your job

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Not yet. Once I start teaching sex ed I suppose it will in a metaphorical way. You should scope my profile picture.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

"These boots are made for walking And thats just what they'll do!"

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I wanted to be a teacher until I talked to teachers about teaching.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Sadly I had teachers who didn't agree. And I guess many people had such teachers.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

As the son of a teacher, I couldn't agree more.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

It makes no sense that schools arent pumped with money. I mean who else are we prioritizing if it isnt our future generations?

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I agree but I would like to know your reasons why

by Anonymous 3 years ago

See? Even the teachers hate it

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Police are good, police institutions are bad.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Of course police is good. The alternative is having private malitias. Do you want rich men to have a private police that will enforce thier own laws?

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Many people want to abolish the police so not everyone agrees with me. Clearly the solution is in depth reform, not abolition.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

No reasonable person wants abolition. Only radicals think that's ideal. But yes reform is definitely a necessity.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Radials can often push policy

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Sarcasm? Thats basically what exists already, hah.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

To an extent. In some countries the police is an actual police, for example spain and israel. And not a legalized mafia like the US, UK, or most of eastern europe.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Is it possible to gain this knowledge?

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Not from the school system.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Huge ooof

by Anonymous 3 years ago

🏅If my free award hadn't expired I'd give it to you

by Anonymous 3 years ago

My grade school life consisted of a 10 minute lecture and then being handed a worksheet so I could regurgitate what was said. Rarely would a teacher sit down and explain things to me. I essentially had to learn everything by myself for the entire 13 years.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

same, still do in high school right now

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Yes, this is so true. Thank you for this!

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Politics is good, the political system is bad.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

It takes wayyy too long to change things for the better. So much wasted time. So many wasted resources. Such outdated buildings.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

This is why I will always gladly live in "taxachusetts". An extra $100 a year so the school kids get a decent education? Yes please!

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Of course. I've been saying this for a long time

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Teachers who don't like students make school bad, the system isn't too bad, needs refining thougg

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I remember saying this on one of my English viva and the teacher gave me that look and then gave me an A+

by Anonymous 3 years ago

An undeniable fact at this point but most attempts at fixing this are quickly stamped down

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Truthfully we need to work so many systems globally. Education, Governments, To some extent Medical, and I think law enforcement and the jail systems to a larger degree.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Exactly!

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Yes the system and the material. The material that is being taught (IN MY OPINION) isn't relevant to life or society anymore.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I mean I haven't used ancient Chinese history and cuneiform but ig it might be useful later

by Anonymous 3 years ago

as a student I agree

by Anonymous 3 years ago

As a student I couldn't agree more there is so many flaws and no one tries to fix them I'll say something about a flaw and my parents will tell me school is good for me like bitch I know I'm saying there is a flaw that should be fixed no school is bad but they don't care because thyre my parents so they're automatically right

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Comrade, we agree

by Anonymous 3 years ago

The idea is good, the execution is terrible

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Let me fix that for you: School isn't good. Learning is good. I'd rather learn but not go to school than go to school and not learn.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

The parents are worse

by Anonymous 3 years ago

And the school lunches are the worst.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

That's all it is. It's so simple, yet so many people don't get it

by Anonymous 3 years ago

No learning is good school is bad

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Omg why didn't everyone else think of this ???

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Well, in America

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I always feel like it's not the system that is bad. It's individuals.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I dont understand why some of the things are there. Geometry and up should be optional. The reason kids do so poorly and dont try is they dont want to do it and arnt interested in it. You should be able to pursue what you are interested in. They need to fix the system.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Unfortunately, the school system soured my opinion school, and learning, as a whole. It's been a few years, but I still have a grudge I haven't been able to let go of.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

American school is shooting

by Anonymous 3 years ago

From what I can contrast between my kids and myself. Growing up in a Lutheran private school in the late 80s early 90s.. Public schools nowadays are 100x better.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Yet people don't go say all teachers are bad. They say the system is bad. But when the justice system is bad they say all cops are bad.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

My school is great as to what they teach (helps that they were also a National showcase school) it's just how they teach it is questionable. Given it is almost always up to the teacher on how they teach, so I can't fault the school itself there since my Geometry teacher was awesome but my trig teacher is... well daily homework assignments on difficult math concepts is fun...

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I agree and not just because am some edgy teenager. It's so bad. Online school is also bad and I have even less freedom when am doing online school. The system has many flaws but some good teachers and people might be able to fix it.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

More accurately, learning is good. School is one of many ways to learn.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

... In America.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

That's up to the student and parents.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

And to the whole school too. If the student doesn't have a safe, healthy environment at school, it can be very hard to learn.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Also, every government reform in my lifetime has made things worse.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

You need to figure out what you want from school. The school system is job training. Show up on time, put some effort in, show up in appropriate clothes. I can't catch a ball to save my life, but I always got an A in gym. If you don't feel challenged, ask the teacher after school or before school that and the teacher may help you.

Capitalism baby

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Nope, try again

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Actually due more to founding the department of education which is a very socialism thing to do

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Tying school funding to property taxes doesn't help. Ed department should be scaled up and act as a direct funding aparatus for the public education system.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Dont blame his school. It's the system man! Imagine believing capitalism is bad. And socialism is the answer. . . From your iPhone??!

by Anonymous 3 years ago

I never said capitalism is bad and socialism is the answer, just saying that founding a nationwide department for education is a very socialism thing to do.. trying to imply it is bad

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Didnt say you buddy lol. All is well!

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Founding the department of education *and then underfunding everything it runs FTFY

by Anonymous 3 years ago

This is hilarious because the education system is primarily public, but you'd know that if our education system was better. There isn't competition among public schools which is a cornerstone of capitalism.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Except at the university level. That is capitalist, and we do have some of the best universities in the world, though they are only available to an extremely small portion of the population. Mainly, to those lucky enough to be born rich. # Oh the irony. Capitalistic education provides a good system to almost no one, and socialist education provides a good education to... also, almost no one. Other countries have figured it out though, just not America. It's like we are a special kinda dumb.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Thank you tasty sperm dispenser

by Anonymous 3 years ago

What is so bad about the education system? Im assuming you are talking about education in the US.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Wow Einstein, so profound and unique

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Faith is good, church is bad.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Or maybe your bad;)

by Anonymous 3 years ago

You're* ;)

by Anonymous 3 years ago

School is good. The virus safety is bad

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Kids aren't bad, the parents are

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Knowledge is good, Googling questions for answers and blaming education as a whole is bad. 1- How much time/effort to you put into learning something? 2- What is your role in your education, and how many times have failed yourself? 3- There are issues (cost of college/standardized tests) but there are multiple positives that no one ever acknowledges. "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself" - Tolstoy
