I discovered this as a teenager when I'd wake up hungover. I remember thinking that I must be weird or something. Wife gives me grief for drinking the pickles dry.

For the love of God do not drink Gatorade. It has more sugar than pop. Need electrolytes? Drink coconut water or watermelon!

I may be wrong but one of Gatorade or Powerade tastes sweet when you are dehydrated. And strange (salty?) when you are not. Sure they have a lot of sugar but they also have electrolytes. And tbf a lot of athletes drink Gatorade or Powerade when running.
