+37 Since most drivers see the crosswalk sign as just another crosswalk marker and not as a reminder to YIELD TO pedestrians and most drivers expect that the pedestrians better be OUT OF THE LANE once they get there 10 seconds later, the best solution for cities to do would be to design and install crosswalk signs with the same symbol, but Red, White and Blue that also say YIELD and with Red White and Blue lights that only flicker and for 20 seconds if a pedestrian pushes the button to cross. And both signs at both ends of 1 crosswalk should be connected, to warn traffic on both sides, amirite?
