Concrete roads are louder when you drive on them, they wear tires faster, and they're worse for fuel efficiency than asphalt roads. That's the trade off for less maintenance needed for the road itself.

Roads actually were concrete in the early 20th century, and they're generally still in pretty good condition. Meanwhile asphalt needs to be re-done almost constantly.
