All roads should be made of concrete, since concrete roads are durable, while asphalt roads don't last and need to be repaved, costing taxpayers billions more dollars every year, amirite?

Roads actually were concrete in the early 20th century, and they're generally still in pretty good condition. Meanwhile asphalt needs to be re-done almost constantly.

Concrete roads are louder when you drive on them, they wear tires faster, and they're worse for fuel efficiency than asphalt roads. That's the trade off for less maintenance needed for the road itself.
