In the OPs defense that's now how averaging works. If you have 8 super smart people and 2 really stupid people the average would be 5. By your logic 50% of the people are below 5 which is simply wrong, only 20% of the people are below average. Now I think we know which side of the scale YOU sit on

That's not how averaging works either. You seem to have done (8 + 2) / 2 = 5. You found the average number of people in each group instead of the average intelligence of the people.
