+56 If chimpanzees are 99% related to humans, then eating a chimp is 99% cannibalism. amirite?

Not if you take into account the actual definition of cannibalism

By this logic, all animals down the evolutionary tree are just varying degrees of cannibalism. Heck, plant life and animal life have mutual ancestors, everything is cannibalism if you think about it. Unless you don't believe in evolution and therefore don't think.

So by your logic, since we share 50% of our DNA with a green bean, when we eat them, it's 50% cannibalism. I guess I need to rethink my life.

We share about 60% of our DNA with bananas... not sure if that helps.

So when I eat a banana I'm 60% cannibal! The horror!

There are microbes in the water you monster!!

Yep, life is chemistry run amok, and we are just slaves to the mandates of a DNA molecule. Reduced to its basics life is just consumption, reproduction, cannibalism and addiction. That is all!

So what you're saying is it's better to eat people because there are too many anyway? Solid advice.

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Yeah this is why I try to only eat one or two chimps per week.

Well that's how we got HIV isn't it? People hunting and eating chimpanzees. Not a good idea to eat too close to the family tree...
