+21 Since there are about 2.5 babies born a second, there are as much people on earth as the amount of seconds the oldest person on earth has lived. amirite?

by Anonymous 3 years ago

The oldest person on earth is typically around 120+-5 years old. That comes to 120 x 365 x 24 x 60 x 60 seconds, which is about 3.8 billion seconds. There are 7.8 billion people so thats actually really close to OPs estimate.

Did you say 3.8B and 7.8B are close?

by Anonymous 3 years ago

Yes they are, theyre very close to within an order of magnitude, which is the kind of scale you should be thinking on when dealing with these kinds of estimates.

There are almost DOUBLE the amount of people in the estimation, thats not so close 1:1 vs. 2:1 is huge
