I think they're going for the idea that Gordon Ramsay is a pretty rude person even though he's really not, he's just a very to the point in almost every definition of the word. He loves his kids and they are very good people, so unless they get on his bad side, they are not in for a rude awakening. Also his son makes fun of the fact that Gordon's rude so he already knows

My guess is that OP is talking about how he is nice to kids but really hard on adults.
