I actually agree. More often than not, my motivation for going out is not wanting to dirty the kitchen.

This is true. We eat out a lot less since covid happened and the number one thing I've noticed is that the kitchen *is always dirty*. Making food is not as big of a deal as the massive cleanup that follows.
