It's bizarre that "five tenths of a thing" is singular, but "0.5 things" is plural, amirite?

Equally mind-blowing, yes. It's especially weird to me that "five tenths" is, itself, literally plural, though, whereas "zero" isn't.

It's actually singular because no matter what, it's still just half

I use it as a singular e.g. half a pizza not half of pizzas
