Like our shadows are 2d projections of us we might be 3D projections of 4d beings. amirite?

Carl Sagan. Flatland. Not exactly this, but pretty close.

what is the sound of my mind blowing ?

We are... you at the present is a representation of you along your journey through life, a single point in time of a 4th dimensional being.

@Tldfonat People without sentiments own the universe

I would like or dislike this statement, except then I would no longer own the universe.

Ps: You are late with the rent. Pay up.

We are 3D beings in a 4D space time, the fourth dimension being time

If this would be correct, and we assume to have our own conscious, would our 2D shadows have a conscious as well? If so, how would their world look?

Okay, I agree.

The fourth dimension of us kind of looks like a Play-Doh push out version about that is unimaginably long and constantly contorting and moving and changing to different positions as its makes its way across every step, road, and path you've ever traveled. Funny thing, this giant ever stretching creature starts very small and it begins at your mother's vagina, which is a still within the giant snake motion creature that is your mom.

I really wish I could draw this. Think of the motion blur that occurs in poorly encoded mp4, especially in early VLC. Time is the fourth dimension. And as we move through this dimension, I believe it's like a everlasting blur and the individual self that we see in real time is a snapshot or a shadow of that blur. Unfortunately we can only see ourselves in the now, right this moment.

I dont think that's how it works cause shadows are attached to us. I think you mean 4d beings would have 3d shadows

@Kionix But how do we know what a shadow would perceive?

A shadow isn't a "thing" to perceive anything, a shadow is an absence of light.

@Dairyqueenemployee A shadow isn't a "thing" to perceive anything, a shadow is an absence of light.

Exactly. For us to be the "shadows" of some 4D being, our very existence would need to be an absence of something.. which makes no sense.

@freq432 Exactly. For us to be the "shadows" of some 4D being, our very existence would need to be an absence of something...

Maybe we just don't know what we are missing like a shadow would have no idea it is missing depth

I feel that my life is missing depth and has an absence of joy. Does that mean I - (transcends dimensions)

You're describing a shadow as having some sort of active manifestation.

Think of it like this. Shadows don't exist, they're just gaps in between light.

That's where DMT comes in, my friend.

I think there is a hypothesis that we are just 3D holograms on the surface of a 4D black hole. I believe that the math checked out, but it is unclear if it has any foundation in reality, or if it's just a math quirk. Anyway I'm to lazy to look it up, so go check it out for yourself

someone just watched that teeny-bopper rom-com where strangers get stuck in a time loop and fall in love.

The same way a 2d shadow can't be alive, a 3d shadow wouldn't either. That also imply that we have 4D Light coming from somewhere we cant point to. And shadows usually change shape in weird ways because of projection and can blur if light source is not a point light, maybe that can be a concept for a alien movie, but shadows by definition are nothing and we can't be a shadow even in principle.
