That is a good one, but coming from someone who grew up with their parents feeding them trash, I would say good eating habits would have been something I really appreciated.

I disagree. The most valuable thing they can give their children is good taste. Good taste doesn't need to be expensive.

No. Inexpensive taste isn't necessarily good. Buy cheap buy twice is often true.

A few months ago I was in the grocery aisle when I saw a child looking at the Kanzi apples. "Look how pretty they are, let's buy those!" Mom scrunches her nose at the price. "No, I don't like how they taste." They cost thrice as much as a regular variety, so I understand. I just found the interaction too funny.
