Photography has been so perfected that you can take pictures in higher definition than real life itself...yet selfies continue to remain a mysterious challenge. amirite?

One could decently consider the real life resolution to be the atomic level.

Cameras ain't there yet...

What would be the point of taking a picture in higher definition than life. Cause the quality we see life is cause of our eyes so wouldn't we just see that picture at the best our eyes can

Depends on the purpose of the photographer or filmmaker I suppose. You know those scenes in movies where sometimes they are really zoomed in on the few drops falling from the petals of a beautiful flower? Or how they exaggerate someone panicking in a horror film by using extra high definitely scenes of them panting and sweating even though IRL we wouldn't necessarily see all those pores or whatever. There's a million factors but some things are in a higher quality than our eyes because unlike our eyes, we can adjust cameras to better focus on one element or make a background stand out in a highly contrasted way, etc. It's pretty amazing. Think about those slideshows and little scenes they show on TVs at the electronics department of stores to show the level of definition the TV can handle. Our eyes are insanely complicated and cool, but photography can be much more impressive. Don't forget there is a lot we can't see, and cameras or magnifying objects have made it possible for us to do so.
