We can test for it actually. How people put certain colours in order and what colours do when mixed amongst others can tell us a lot. Some people even have extra cones that allow a fourth frequency of light that the rest of us can't see.

I agree. My friend has protanopia, so he has a tendency to run red lights if no traffic is around.
