It was already done 30 years ago, the Record of Lodoss War manga/anime/video game is based off a DnD campaign.

This is how the the movie in the early 2000's(?) should have done it. Marlon Wayne can only Marlon Wayne so much to save a movie.

I kind of think it did. Like, maybe it's just that the writing was bad, but there were a lot of times where things happened so randomly you could almost see the dice-rolls that caused it. Like the illusion in the mage tower that scares the crap out of Wayne while the other guy is just like "Huh... Neat."
