Worked in the foster care system with kids on the autism spectrum. No experience was needed, and we were paid a little more than min wage. THE HARDEST JOB ON THE PLANET. Jesus couldn't do that job…

I find it hard to believe that working with autistic foster kids is "low-skilled" work. Seems more like they just decided there's nothing our current schooling system does to prepare people for that, so no credentials could indicate skill and they'd just keep hiring people until someone didn't quit.

I was a behavioral counselor in the foster system for most of my 20s. No education or experience needed, never made more than a dollar over minimum wage, hardest job in the world!

Repetition strains your body and your brain. You wouldn't believe the number of cashiers I know who have repetitive motion injuries.

Esp if it's customer facing. Dealing with people in that environment is a special type of hell that deserves at least a livable wage. It takes a great deal of restaint to not want to reach across and strangle some people

What do you mean by "difficult"? Mind giving an example?

Customer service is getting paid the legal minimum while saying "yes, I'll be verbally abused for ten hours." You don't see CEOs or executives crying in the freezer.

I couldn't agree more, as a warehouse worker, picking boxes all day is not only back breaking but so repetitive, the money is good though.
