The merger begins about 4.5 Billion years from now, and will finish in about 10.5 Billion years which is billions of years after the Earth is destroyed by our Sun. Even if our descendants manage to survive that long, chances are that they won't resemble us very much, if at all, so they won't be humans (homo sapiens).
