Nah. I spent like 2k to build my rig and I've definitely spent way more than that on steam over the last 10 years.

my steam account is worth way more

Like your vital organs?

There's no way I'm handing my steam account over to my kids, it's sacred. They can get their own collection going ;)

my steam account is probably worth thirty some dollars

Not just young people. I own few material possessions, none of them considered "valuable"

since older games are given for free or in 2$ bundle, I highly doubt that.

4k+ Games in lib, and all installed. Yes that is a money sink.

Assuming they die young. Most people evolve as they age and won't be the same person with the same interests when they're 80 as when they're 20.

Not really lots of people have passions their whole life a guitar player will still play as long as they are able some people bounce around hobbies. I've been playing the same games since I was 7 granted now we have vr and 4K but the love for the games and genre hasn't faded. Obviously if you're getting blackout drunk and buying etfs you might grow up a bit but when you find something you really love it will always be there
