+380 I'm all for going green but I'm not going to buy a eco-friendly product when it's 3 times more expensive than the none eco-friendly product, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Think of all the trees that were killed to produce all the cash you spend on that product. Eco-friendly my ASS

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha, good one.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

money isnt made from trees..

Money is made from cotton.

Cheapskate. Jk. Ha :D

That's because they know that whatever is happening to our planet, it can't be stopped. So they're cashing in on people who are uninformed or feel guilty. It's always been about money, not saving our planet

Actually if you invest 12000 in solar panels, the government WILL give you HALF of it back. You can build yourself a completely self sustaining home and you wont have to pay for electric, water, or any other shit of that nature-so in the long run you will be saving so much more. People are so okay with spending their money on a bunch of other shit they dont need, so it doesnt really matter-thats what our economy depends on-people buying shit, and what do they buy? smart phones, 3D TVs, fucking 100$ Jeans, fancy cars...yeah

It's costs a lot of money to build a self sustaining home, unless you want to live in a dirt hole in the ground or stack of tires, and it takes decades for solar panels to pay themselves off. Not to mention the cost of food stays the same unless you want to grow it yourself, and it might even go up because a cheap self sustaining home will have to be built outside city limits, which means more driving to get to the store, which means more money for gas. In my opinion, it's not a cost friendly option. Last thing; if it's so cheap and awesome to live off the grid, why don't more people do it?? You'd think that in a recession more people would be looking for cheaper things, right? It's because a lot of people can see it's not a quick fix that saves you all of your money, it requires a lifestyle change that most people don't want.

Earthships-those 'dirt holes' can actually be pretty nice homes inside, they are just built with recycled materials. They dont have to be that far-like 30 minutes from a city where you can go to work. I just think its a pretty groovy idea, it would cost a bunch at first but thats why it is called an investment.I love being off the grid, and I know not everyone does. I can have just as much if not more fun in the country than the city, and I'll probly end up living out west someday. Im glad not EVERYONE wants to live in the country or else it wouldnt be country anymore. I just appreciate the open space and the stars more than others-ive probly seen more shooting stars than normal-this isnt even about living green as much as it is about living off the grid lol. I am just an adventurer and I can probly live without some things that many people cant, though I do enjoy the internet I rarely watch TV and I probly read more than a lot of people.

Anywho my main point was, they dont just care about money if they are giving half of it back to you. I also dont like the fact that unhealthy food is so cheap while healthy food is expensive, like some people eat nothing but garbage everyday because thats the only thing they can afford and it makes me sad. I have some knowledge for you, the simplest way to be green is this-dont buy bottled water (look and you actually SAVE money) it is no better than tap water. Bottled water just wastes money and energy. I know some tap water can have minerals like calcium but its not bad for you.

I never drink bottled water. I was raised in a farming community so I'm good with drinking from a well. I understand how a lot of people think that organic food is healthier but in reality, organic fruits and vegetables aren't superior nutritionally to normal fruits and veges. people buy crap food because it's quick and easy to prepare and people are just lazy. I'd suggest watching penn and teller: Bullshit on organic food, it's pretty eye opening. As for the eco friendly homes. If it takes decades to pay off, then the chances of you seeing the money come back to you, before you have to spend money to repair your house, are slim. Since I was raised on a farm I totally agree with people wanting to live off the grid, but spending a lot of money to do so is just ridiculous. People pay for comfort, so if you learn to remain comfortable in a lot of situations then you save money.

Yep. All they want is your money. If you know that it goes for a good cause, they know you will buy it and stop at no cost (well, some will anyways). Great marketing technique.

Like carbon credits...WTF!!! How will giving people money reverse or even affect carbon emissions??? People that buy them are mentally incompetent

This doesn't seem like something Rachel Berry would say. Just sayin'...
