+116 911 is used as an emergency number because of 1 and 9 being on opposite diagonals on the number pad so as to make dialing as deliberate as possible. amirite?

112 in Germany has been chosen to keep the distances on the rotary dial short. 110 because they are the extreme finger holes on the dial and can easily be found in the dark.

We use 10111 to make sure you didn't dial it by mistake....on a rotary phone. Pulse dialing FTW.
