This would be true if what you paid for was a specified amount of time on a train. But what paid for is to get to your destination in a specified amount of time.

You're spending more time on the train for less money however ideally you would spend the least amount of time for more money while still getting to your desired destination.

If the length of the ride is what you value. If efficiency why you decided to take the train then it your train delay just cost you more time…. And time is money.
